I found out the hard way that Internet business opportunities are
almost never all they're cracked up to be. The only persons who benefit from the opportunities are the people who start the programs and a few friends at the top.
Seen all those ads with images of luxury cars, boats, and house? This is the image of high life you can have if you join a MLM opportunity.
If you believe the above I have a beautiful famous bridge in San
Francisco I want to sell, cheap, do not wait, TODAY ONLY.
As a newbie to the Internet (joining after years of retirement), with 40 years of successful publishing, printing, business off line, it makes me sick to think people would believe this. Yeh, just join this MLM and in two months you will be building a luxury house next to Bill Gates.
Scams after scam try to make people believe that pyramid selling laws just doesn’t apply to the Internet. Many so-called marketers are not just sneaky, but are out and out liars.
If you intend on making a living on the Internet start out part time. The failing rate on the Internet is over 94 percent, mostly because they buy into the MLM Marketer that promises all you have to do is join as a paid member.
In your dealings with others, make sure you have proper disclosures as required by law. To be an effective marketer, don't be untruthful, make false, misleading statements. Further remember you are responsible for statements made by the MLM marketer if you are an affiliate selling for them. You too could be charged and fined along with the MLM you are promoting.

If you’re just starting up, try it part-time. You should consider selling via eBay. They first started in 1995, and I am sure few people would have believed they would have over 157 million members worldwide today.
Thousands of persons are making a good living today selling on eBay. They give you a lot of support with free information, tools and resources. Really a great way to start on the Internet part-time, as you have control on the hours you want to spend to make it work.
To register is free and easy. Go to;

Click the register now button. You will need to create a User ID. And password, and enter the required information. You will receive confirmation e-mail from them. Just click on the link and you will have a account with them. Below is some URL’s you can click on to get further information.
Protect yourself from spoof (fake) emails and Web sites. Take the Spoof Tutorial to learn about eBay Toolbar with Account Guard, which warns you when you are on a known spoof site.

Sellers must honour the transaction contract. Sellers cannot fail to deliver an item for which payment was accepted, significantly misrepresent an item by not meeting the terms and item description outlined in the listing, or refuse to accept payment for an item at the end of a successful sale.

This woman rushed to her doctor and rattles off: “doctor, when I woke up this morning and looked into the mirror I saw my hair wiry and frazzled, my skin was wrinkled and pasty, my eyes were bloodshot, I had a corpse-like look on my face! Please doctor can you tell what’s wrong with me?”
The doctor looks her over for a few minutes, then replies:” Well, I can tell you that there is nothing wrong with your eyesight.”

Working part time there is no need to set up a fancy outside facility. Your basement, spare room will do just as well. All you need to sell on the Internet is a computer connected to the Internet.
Further there are some good tax breaks working from home, your computer, Internet connection, part light, heat and any other expense you have running the business.
There are many places that will supply you with a free course in drop shipping. They will give you ideas on where to find products to sell, and teach you what drop shipping is so you don’t have to stock your house with boxes of inventory.
Don't be fooled by the junk drop ship lists that sell for $25 to $50+ and call themselves drop shippers. Most of these lists are worthless. They are resellers, charge you high retail prices, or you are required to pay a set up fee.
The good true drop shipper will not ask you for a fee. They will allow you to copy pictures of the products they sell. Prices are about half you would pay for retail. You can then set your price. They will not include any of their material and ship under your label.
Downsides of Drop-Shipping
Since you are not the manufacturer or original supplier of the goods, you are at their mercy or the mercy of fate. What if their business starts being unreliable, untrustworthy, or even goes bust? What if their export regulations, or your import regulations change?
Even if your supplier is a good one, inevitably they will often go out of stock on certain goods, or change their product range. If you aren't completely up-to-date with what your supplier has available, you could find yourself with dissatisfied customers facing long delays because they have paid you for a product which is now on back-order or not even available any more.
You should also check out some of the wholesale outfits in China. Low prices and some will allow you to buy 3-50 items. There are a few places in the USA that allow you to buy smaller amounts of items however, prices are a bit higher.
Before starting any business you should check out the rules and regulations that may affect what and how you’re selling.
Since 1979 the FTC has required business opportunity sellers to provide full disclosure to purchasers. The FTC can bring civil actions against anyone that violate the rule or mislead people with deceptive practices.
A lot of instances business opportunity packages are prices at $495- on the theory the price is below the $500- rule. The FTC can bring action against fraudulent operators not only under the FTC Franchise Rule but also under law regarding miss-representation and deceptive practices.
